The SEC is easily accessible by road, rail and public transport, with plenty of accessible travel options to choose from.

Bus

Several local buses stop near the SEC Glasgow. The closest stop to the venue is the following:

• X19 Stagecoach stops on Finnieston Street, is a 7-minute walk to the venue

Most of the buses in Glasgow are low floor, allowing for easy wheelchair access and have both audio and visual next stop announcements. They also have dedicated wheelchair spaces and priority seating.


Car

The SEC is in Glasgow City Centre’s Low Emission Zone (LEZ), therefore if you are driving to the venue, you may be subject to a charge, so please check your route

Accessible parking near SEC Glasgow

There is a car park linked to the venue, which is accessible via a linked walkway, which has disabled spaces.

• SEC Carpark: located approximately 7-minute walk from the SEC entrance. There are accessible parking spaces.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to pre-book accessible bays or parking spaces. There is a drop off point with a dropped curbs directly outside of the building entrance.

Foot

The approach to the SEC is flat with a gentle slope towards all entrances.


Taxi

Taxis will be able to drop off directly outside the main entrance on Stobcross Road, situated behind the west entrance of the SEC Centre, where a fully accessible entrance to the building is located. The taxi rank is located directly outside the venue on Congress Road. Taxis can be booked with Glasgow cabs who have wheelchair-friendly vehicles available upon request. You can book a taxi by calling 0141 332 5050. We recommend using the same company for taxi pick up. Should you require additional support when calling your taxi for departure please advise one of the Civil Service Volunteers, who will be happy to assist where needed.


Train

The closest train station to SEC Glasgow is Glasgow Central and Argyle Street stations and Exhibition Centre Station. Argyle station is not accessible by lift, so we recommend using Glasgow Central Station if a lift is required. At Exhibition Centre station, a lift is available to take attendees to street level and is a 6-minute walk/0.3 miles away. On exiting the station, a covered walkway connects the station to the venue.
